1.6: Motor turns over but does not start on the first few tries.
Hey guys, good to be here.
I have a problem with my car. I drive an Audi A3 1.6 petrol from 2003. Few months ago it started to give me problems when wanting to start the engine. I thought it was one time, but since 4 weeks ago started to do that every few days. The motor cranks for few times (i am cranking it, then stop, wait for a bit and than crank it again) but it does not start. When i wait for a minute or two after that it starts without any problem. I changed the spark plugs two weeks ago and the voltage regulator on my alternator cause it was overcharging the battery. The air filter is also new since i did a oil change 2 month ago. I thought the problem was solved but after few days happened again. Checked the car with diagnostic tool, it gave me the error code 17925 (Main relay electric fault in the circuit), bought a new one and the car did the same thing the same day only this time i disconnected the battery and the car started on the first try. When i run the diagnostic again it shows no error codes. When the key is in the ignition i can hear the fuel pump working plus it smells of petrol when the motor cranks. So i think i can rule out the fuel pump. Also i can rule out the spark plugs because they are new and because the motor starts eventually after 4-6 tries. If the relay for the fuel pump is a problem than the car will not start at all.
At this time i am out of ideas. I need help!

Make sure your key switch works in cranking position, too.
