A3 Sportback facelift ruckleucten codierung help !!!
Hello, i got a problem with the re coding of my facelifted ruckleuchten for my sportback. I've purchased the light with the adapter and it's ok but for the re coding, my audi dealer doesn't understant the figures i got.
This is the instructions i've received :
Btye 9 auf Bit 00 (Dez = 0, Hex = 0) - Bremslicht als Schlusslicht
Byte 10 auf Bit 00 (Dez = 0, Hex = 0) - Nebelschlussleuchten als Schlusslicht
Byte 12 auf Bit 32 (Dez = 36, Hex = 24) - Dimmung Standlicht hinten
Byte 19 Bit 2 Kaltdiagnose Standlicht hinten aktiv - dies muss deaktivert werden
I would like to know exactly which figures i had before changing and what i'm supposed to have now. The location of this and for exemple where is located btye, bit, dez and hex. We've checked with the diagnose tool but they are not sure of what they are doing. On the computer datas lines a longer than the tutoriel. And for Byte 19, i don't really understand what i'm supposed to do. If you have a beter configuration, don't hesitate to telle me.
P.S.: all is coming from kufatec.

look at the attachment. It explains the coding on VAS (the tool which is used by your audi dealer)
The default coding looks like this: (note: that's just an example, your default coding would be different)
F58A1F01901410004F1616001600000000084E175A050002000000000000
The marked Bytes have to be changed.
Print the attachment and and gave it to your dealer. I am sure he can do it

for Byte 9 remplace Hex 16 by 00
for Byte 10 remplace Hex value by 00 (nothing is supposed to be done, already good, just check)
for Byte 12 remplace Hex 16 by 36
for Byte 21 remplace bit muster 00000001 by 00010001
I guess it's right.
And what about Byte 19, i don't really understand. My german is lacky.

quick explain about Byte 21. The Change in Byte 21 means, that the brake light would be activated in the inlead lights, too. look at the attachment (pic by Scotty18)

The Change in Byte 19 is neccessary if your model year is less then 2008. If it is not deactivated, the Light Band in the rear lights will light up 3 times while start up the engine.
My sportback is 2008 but it's not facelifted model. I just need to know how to desactivate it. Just show me the way and i'll be ready for coding. Thanks again

i would like to turn on the "NSL als bremslich" on a A3 sportback 8P model May 2005.
i have vag-com
in longcoding funktion 07 i have hex values until byte 20 but byte 21 is a free celle (no value inside). also i don't have any text to help only a binary value that is 11100100 (i have standard xenon installed, not bi-xenon).
If i follow what you said i will need to change this to 11110100, is it possible and am i right?
also my binary does not look like yours 00000001 , strange...

but unfortunately it doesn't work :(
in fact i can change the binary but when i click DO it! it gives an error like "the code you entered is invalid, try again"
what is surprising is that it knows the hidden text of byte 21 because after typing my binary 2 lines of text appear:
-bit 2 : Xenon with halogen high beam
-bit 4 : rear fog light as brake light (ticked!)
this sounds good even it says 21 bytes in the bottom of the coding window...(meaning from byte 0 to byte 20, byte 21 isn't supposed to exist..)
anyway, i cannot validate it, i have a VCDS error message after clicking "do it".
any ideas ?
any means to force the coding (what is suprising is that it "knows" the content of byte 21 but doesn't display and doesn't seem to allow changes)

sorry, my fault. didn't read your first paragraph (in mind).
You've the 21 Byte B-STG. That's why your 'Byte 21' field is blank. It isn't possible to code the 'NSL as rear light' with this type of central electrics controller.
You need an newer Version like Index F or K.

yes you're right, MJ2005 seem to be 21 bytes long and thus cannot be coded after byte 20. i wasn't sure but i doubted it.
it is strange that when i set binary right the text under the coding appears, but cannot be saved... :(
i guess there is no way to force that.
How can I get a new version of the controller ?
is it complicated to change on the car ? expensive ?
do you think it is worth it ?

Well, i think that the cost of an new controller isn't worth to change it
An newer controller you can get easily on ebay. It costs round about 90 bucks
