Today is the day I have been looking forward to for 2 months.
Collecting my brand new Touran at the Volkswagen dealership.
The hole family was very excited and we had planned to celebrate it at home at dinner.
But I am very disappointed now...
First delivery was delayed 2 weeks - without any other explanation then that the car was sitting on a trailer somewhere!
Well it arrived monday at the dealer and the have spend 3 days making it ready for me.
We came on time today and got the explanation of all the papers and went along to get introduced to the car and its features - last thing was introduction to the Discovery radio and computer. When he turned it on - only a blue screen came. saying " no software detected" please load correct software or something like that.
So the salesman got a little unsettled and hurried the car over to the garage for the mechanics to fix it.
We waited 45 minutes, but they could not fix it and told me the go home and they would call when problems was solved. There is no news yet.
I just dont get it. How can this happen. How can they claimed they have checked and made the car ready for pickup when they never turned on the Discovery system. I makes me think twice about ever going back that workshop. I makes me unsure if the car is right for me, I specific did not want a french car of fear of bad electronics. Will this car be a "monday car" will I face problems with it...€45.500 is a lot of money for me.(even though cheap for a Touran in Denmark)
... just letting off steam here... I am just very disappointed and hope VW has the descency to compensate me so how for ruining my first day with my new car.

Update # 3
17 days went by before they had fixed the car and it was delivered on a truck at my wife workplace ( 4th time).
VW was in a hurry to get the Touran 1,6 TDI DSG we borrowed back to the shop.
They replaced the control device in dash above the glove compartment (CD player etc).
At delivery, the cars odometer said 0 km., when I left it 17 days ago it said 15 km. So everything has been reset.
Car still has another lauder sound then the other car, but I hope its as it should be, right? DSG vs Manuel!
The Car is now in perfect working order and it is nice to have our own car in the garage again after 40 days delay in delivery.
I am glad that VW gave us another car to drive free of charge during the 40 days delay in delivery.
But thats what I believe can be expected when delivery was confirmed to be on time 1 week before and I sold my old car 1 week later then delivery was supposed to be plus I paid in full for the car (€ 45.333 incl. dk taxes).
But what I dont understand is the lack of an apology or compensation for what happened.
Not even a bottle of wine or a spoken word. Never an answer to my mails, never an update of whats going on.
I dont believed that kind of behaviour is what makes happy customers and good stories for the brand VW which is what they need in these times.
One thing is for sure, The car will never again set foot at the dealer VW in Risskov, Aarhus, Denmark. I will use another servicepartner for the future service and repair of my new Touran.
When I come around to it I will post my thoughts between the manual shift and the DSG for the new Touran.
Just need a bit more data on manual before its possilble.

Well both of us had a bad day picking up the new car. We went all the way to Wolfsburg, spent a night in the Hotel, and in the morning the car was missing! They found it, but we were sent home only to pick it up a week later. From what I hear in the forum it is just us two. In half a year you will smile thinking about this. Head up!
Have you discover pro or discover Media ?? My discover pro works succesfully. About discover Media lock for answers here at the forum. The Touran is a beautiful and very good car. You will be love him .??
I'm sorry to hear that! I can completely understand your frustration. But hey, don't worry, this happens from time to time.
Nevertheless, you should ask the sales guy if they properly did the 0 KM inspection (they have to). One of the working steps is to program the radio preset keys to local stations. Feel free to ask him how they did that with a broken radio. Also ask if you could assume that other steps were also omitted...
I'll keep my thumbs pressed that once this little hiccup is resolved you'll enjoy your brand new car
I also had a bad experience.
I have the car only 2 days and noticed water inside the right A pillar. Very disapointed.
Taking it back today.

Its not Discover Pro.
Its standard comfortline without navigation, but with App Connect.
So Discover media I suppose.
I am going back today and picking it up.
They have installed new software and it should be working now.
He said it must have lost the software from the 75meters from the werkstedt to the showroom (wtf)
He said, he would not give me any compensation. Only 10% discount on the tow hook. But he already offered me 10% on that, so its not a compensation. Lets see if there at least is a bottle of wine in the car when I pick it up at five!
Have a great weekend and thanks for your encouraging words.
UPDATE
I went friday to pick up the Touran with updated software. Everything was fine, the sales guy showed me the menus and it all seem perfect, until he touched a botton on the steering wheel, and the screen once again turned blue and nothing could be done. I said that I want a new "radio" unit put in the car. (photo of screen attached)
So the car went back to the werkstedt and I got an other Touran to take with me home.
Problem is that the car I lent has the DSG - wow... how can I go back to manuel shifting....
UPDATE #2
Yesterday i went to the dealer for the 3rd time to pick up the car.
Now he ensured me everything was ok.
So I drove the car out of the shop and after 500 meters it happened again. Blue screen in the radio.
I Noticed that the sound of the car was no near as quite at the car I drive now. Same motor, same car, Only difference is the DSG. It sounded more like a Go-kart or a race-car. It was like I could hear the carburator breath in air. Like there was missing insulation from the cabin into the motor compartment.
So I went back with the car.
So 3rd time, no car either.
I feel this car is nothing but trouble, so today I have waved my right to have a replacement car delivered from the factory.
So lets see what they say about that.
Best luck. Sounds really terrible!
OMG! Jakob, you have bad luck. But reading about a lot of minor and major issues with the technique for this VW model on radio equipment, "speech amplifier", even DYNAUDIO is delayed. I have more and more doubts on the quality level. But you can read about other issues as well, like rear seats malfunctioning and have to be replaced.
Even one local dealer is not very convinced about selling his products, telling me "all of VW, that glitters is not gold" and adding to this statement "lots of offered extras are waste of money".
How your story will go on with other parts in months and years, please keep us updated! Thank you!
Kepp fingers crossed that you once receive another new car from the factory w/o any bugs.
