Neue Motoren für C70

Volvo
Themenstarteram 8. Mai 2010 um 10:20

Hi!

Bodomar.

Upgraded engines and lower fuel consumption in Volvo Cars' 2011 models

The new five-cylinder 2-litre turbodiesel introduced in the all-new Volvo S60 is now available throughout Volvo Cars' model range - and there are upgraded five-cylinder petrol engines too.

"The new engines offer greater driving pleasure across the range. What is more, our strong drive to reduce carbon dioxide emissions means that fuel consumption has been cut as well," says Magnus Jonsson, Senior Vice President Product Development at Volvo Cars.

The new five-cylinder D3 is in principle the same engine as the well-established 2.4-litre diesel, but its displacement has been reduced with a shorter stroke to optimise fuel consumption.

The engine has been optimised for low fuel consumption and the injection system has a different type of piezoelectric fuel injector compared with the D5 engine. These injectors minimise consumption with exceptionally rapid and precise injection pulses under high pressure. This promotes extremely efficient combustion.

In order to give the car better driving properties, the turbocharger has been fine-tuned to provide high torque from low revs.

In the Volvo S80, V70, XC70 and XC60 the newly developed 2-litre diesel engine produces 163 hp and 400 Nm of torque. In these models the engine is badged the D3.

Fuel consumption (EU Combined, preliminary figures) and CO2 emissions:

Model Gearbox Fuel Cons (l/100km)

CO2 Emissions (g/km)

S80 D3 Man 5.3 139

V70 D3 Man 5.5 144

XC70 D3 Man 5.9 154

XC60 D3 Man 5.9 154

The Volvo S80, V70, XC70 and XC60 can also be specified with the high-performance D5 engine that produces 205 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.

All the variants of the new two-litre turbodiesel can be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox. In the D5, the automatic transmission now also features a Sport setting for more agile gearchanging.

Two 2-litre variants in the C30, S40, V50 and C70

In the Volvo C30, S40, V50 and C70 the new 2-litre turbodiesel is available in two variants:

D4 with 177 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

D3 with 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This engine will be introduced in the C70 during the spring and later in 2010 it will also become available in the C30, S40 and V50.

Both the new D3 and D4 meet the Euro 5 emission standards.

Fuel consumption (EU Combined, preliminary figures) and CO2 emissions:

Model Gearbox Fuel Cons (l/100km)

CO2 Emissions (g/km)

C30 D4 Man 5.1 134

C30 D3 Man 5.1 134

S40 D4 Man 5.1 134

S40 D3 Man 5.1 134

V50 D4 Man 5.1 134

V50 D3 Man 5.1 134

C70 D4 Man 5.9 154

C70 D3 Man 5.9 154

All the variants of the new two-litre turbodiesel can be specified with a six-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual gearbox.

D2 with 114 g CO2 emissions

The C30, S40 and V50 are also available with the 1.6-litre diesel engine D2, which also complies with the Euro 5 standards. Fuel consumption in all three models is 4.3l/100 km (EU Combined), which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 114 g/km. The engine produces 115 hp and 270 Nm of torque and now comes with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Sharper T6 and 3.2-litre naturally aspirated engine

Volvo S80, V70, XC70 and XC60 also get upgraded petrol engines:

The six-cylinder, turbocharged T6 has a displacement of 3.0 litres and it now offers even sharper performance, thanks mainly to a reduction in internal friction. As in the all-new S60, it now offers 304 hp and no less than 440 Nm of torque. Maximum torque is achieved between 2100 and 4200 revs. This results in rapid acceleration and smooth driving properties. All-Wheel Drive is fitted as standard.

The six-cylinder 3.2-litre naturally aspirated engine has also been upgraded and features an improved crankshaft and less internal friction. It now offers 243 hp and maximum torque is 320 Nm. In order to meet US legislative requirements, there is also a PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicle) variant that produces 231 hp and 300 Nm.

Fuel consumption (EU Combined, preliminary figures) and CO2 emissions:

Model Gearbox Fuel Cons (l/100km)

CO2 Emissions (g/km)

S80 T6 Aut 9.9 231

New exterior colour, Flamenco Red, for all four models.

The Volvo XC60 is also available in a new colour, Seashell, and the range of wheel rims has been extended with a new 18-inch wheel with six double spokes.

The Volvo V70 gets colour-coded lower body panels as standard, in line with the Volvo S80.

The Volvo On Call system can now be combined with the Bluetooth mobile phone service.

With Volvo On Call it is now even possible to activate the cabin heater remotely via SMS text messaging.

Electrically folding rear seat headrests in the V70 and XC70.

Other new features on the Volvo C30, S40, V50 and C70

Among the other new features in the 2011 Volvo C30, S40, V50 and C70 line-up are:

The Volvo S40 and V50 now get the same larger iron mark as the Volvo C30 and C70. The grille's design is otherwise unchanged.

Vielen Dank!
