Taking Theorie Test in Germany

Hi guys/girls,

I am seit 3 years in Germany, and miss my bike from the USA.

I use to ride bike's for a long time, and had from 600ccm to 1500ccm cruizers, honda vlx & vtx 1300 & harley soft tail.

Now, I am in Germany, and have one old german driving license.

Of course I have US driving license with M endorsement (for motorcycle).

Now, would like to make it in Germany, so I can buy me some cruizer here to and start riding again.

Use to ride over 30K miles per year on my bike's back in US.

Anybody on forum from US who have transfered his driving license in Germany??

I called ADAC and they told me I need to take only theory test and have my motorcycle driving license.

Now, question is about your experience if you're from US and now in Germany and have had your DL transfered or made new here in Germany.

I live now in Heidelberg, BW.

Do you have the original license? What kind of driving license is it? In Germany you can use old driving license, if you have the original, haven't "lost" by driving license office (I don't know the right word for the office).

 

For motobike you need the class "1" either class "A1" for bikes with 125 ccm/15 HP, "A2" for 48 HP and "A" for all other. A included A2 and A1, A2 included A1.

And the old class 1 or 1a correlates to the new class A; 1b to A1.

Maybe you have an old class 2, 3 or 4 (old = issued prior April 1980) and may ride 125cc anyway.

Cao bosanac, tri godine si u Njemackoj? Pa jel vozis sa starom njemackom dozvolom auta ovdje? Mozes ic u Landratsamt pa pitat dali je moguce prepisati - zapravo dobit ces onda novu dozvolu u obliku kartice ( eventualno odma internationalnu) - dozvolu za motor u tvoju staru dozvolu.

To ti je najbrzi i naj sigurniji nacin provjere. Mozda ces morati ovdje ponovo na polaganje. Amerikanci nisu tako strogi u izdavanju vozacke. ;)

I do know some German, but my English is much better than German, that's the only reason why I did wrote in english, which is also not my native language

I am from Bosnia and Hercegovina, Sarajevo.

Use to have one old Former Yougoslavian DL, then moved to Germany in 1996 then I made one Führerschein and in 1998 moved to USA where I got citizenship and moved back to Germany 3 years ago.

Since I was kid, I was riding some bikes, my latest in USA was one Honda VTX 1300, but use to have VLX 600, Softtail 1996, rat bike, some old chopper, now back in Bosnien use to ride Kawa, Honda CB..... etc....

Now, in Germany, would like to make one DL with A Class, but in my old DL is only 3,4,5 I think....

then in US I made one DL mit M endorsement.

Now in German, miss riding bikes.....

Well, in Bosnia you can ride everything without a DL. :D

Was oder welche Maschinen beinhaltet denn der US M Vermerk, weiss das jemand? Der müsste doch dann auch in den deutschen FS vermerkt sein.
