A 2088690120 - Windshield washer fluid reservoir
Good morning, the level indicator of the windshield washer fluid reservoir has been incorrectly showing empty for a few days.
I have always used distilled water and a little detergent added.
Can this be remedied somehow without changing the windshield washer fluid reservoir?
Thank you

The level sensor is dirty, I think it is a float sensor.
So move it (lower part), remove and clean if necessary.
The tank does not need to be replaced.
I tried to remove it from where the electrical connection is but it won't come loose.
I have to look in the details - but I can do this on Friday earliest.
"I tried to remove it from where the electrical connection is but it won't come loose".
Then you've got to find somebody who is capable to do it for you.
When doin' so,
it might be helpful reading the Pdf at the Bottom of this post...
My PC doesn't translate PDFs ))))
It seems to me that it is an electrical test measurement.
Instead, I would like to understand how to extract the entire/partial body of the level indicator from the tray to clean it.
Coolant sensor and wiper fluid sensor
Hi
Check the water level for the windshield washer system and coolant.
Also check the connectors of the wiper water sensor and the coolant sensor.
(Oxidation, poor contact). If the light is still on, one of these sensors is
probably one of these sensors is defective.
To find out which one is defective, disconnect the connector from the wiper water sensor
( usually defective ) and short-circuit the two pins on the connector with a piece of wire.
briefly. If the light is off when the engine is running, this sensor is defective. If the
lamp remains lit, then plug the connector back in and do the same thing on the connector
of the coolant sensor.
Allegedly, cleaning the sensor should also have helped????
Second test option:
These two sensors are connected in series, the devil knows why, but you should use
measure approximately these values at the sensor with an ohmmeter and the plug disconnected. Should there be
deviations, this should then be defective.
Coolant sensor: 110 Ohm
Wiper water sensor: 180 Ohm
best regards
chris
Danke @pittyshome,
ich hatte einfach keine Lust den Text zu übersetzen...
“These two sensors are connected in series, the devil knows why”
Luckily my on-board computer reports them separately.
Zitat:
Luckily my on-board computer reports them separately.
correct but you have different resistance values from the sensors. so you can report them separatly
"Luckily my on-board computer reports them separately".
So where (KI ?) and how are those values displayed ?
The Manual lies in my car and...
I am to lazy now (to old as well) to
go down immediately and find out the "Truth"...
Right, you learn more from your own experience.
Good luck !
The message "low glass fluid level" or "low coolant level" appears on the KI, both displaying the relevant symbol.
In Italian of course
"low glass fluid level" or "low coolant level" appears on the KI.
Thank you Davidoq.
"Right, you learn more from your own experience".
Thanks a lot.
But,
no luck is needed, because... despite the age of 71
I am still not taking the cheap & easy way out...
Best of luck, mike.
