Car-net doesn't work
VWHi to everybody.
I'm really tired with the car-net and navigation system. Since last saturday the world icon in the upper left corner is on grey and 3G (instead of LTE) and the conection to car-net doesn't work. I've tried everything and the result is nuts
Finally I've phoned the VW official service and they instructed me to make some changes but nothing worked. Finally they told me that they have received 3 more calls since yesterday issuing the same problem.
Last week the navigation system didn't work. Hung on the "connecting" screen. I reset the screen pressing the dial but nothing. I reset the nav system and nothing. I had to reset to factory settings to solve the problem
Really tired about a non-finished system. This is a joke for a more than 80K€ car.

Is your car still under warranty? Than drop the car at your dealer, tell them to fix it, simple like that.
Here are not too much mates complaining about the sat nav system. My system runs like a charm.
I agree with fakeAir.
Don’t make yourself angry and bring it to the friendly one, if you have warranty.
My infotainment also runs very smoothly. Only one last question: are you living in an area where the mobile internet is normally good? If you are living in the woods maybe this is also the problem.
Thanks for your prompt answers. Yes, the car is under warranty and I've an appointment scheduled with VW technical service. My main concern is that the operator at VW phone told me that this is not the first case. The mobile coverage is so good and my mobile works perfectly. I will keep you informed but I guess that this is a question of a problem in the car-net database authorizations.

This is not your Problem. Just give them the car and say very clearly that you only take it back when they fixed it and that you are disappointed from a car that price.
Did you try to insert your SIM card directly into the slot in the glovebox? Just for a test. Perhaps your cellphone create the mess.

This is to report that the problem has been solved. VW Spain phoned or mailed me several times for testing different things and none of them worked. I suggested them that maybe the database for giving car-net coverage to the different ID Touaregs is not correct. My suscription lasts for 3 years and now is only 18 months old. Suddenly yesterday everything started working again without doing anything. 8)
